Phoenix thought these shoes were more than appropriate for church...

I won't lie...it's been a bit of a wreck around our parts (disclaimer-things could be worse, but we're grateful that they aren't!). Phoenix was wheezing for a couple of days and wasn't responding much to an albuterol inhaler so we brought him to the hospital. It seems as though on the way to the hospital you realize one of two things. First, you think...are the doctors going to think this is no big deal and send us on our way. Or, they are going to wonder why they don't call the Child Protection Agency on you because by the time you bring your kid in the child is half dead. Well, this time we were wondering the latter. The doctors jaw dropped when she heard him breathe. She wanted to admit him to the hospital, but allowed him instead (probably to torture me) to go home with oral steroids, inhalers, nebulizers and be on oxygen. Yes, on oxygen...can I tell you how fun that is...

Anyway, Stan was out of town during that whole fun episode, but there was much more fun to be had...Two days later Peyton was wheezing, so we didn't put up with it for very long. We brought him to the hospital and he is now on a nebulizer plus he has an ear infection. Ask how the other kids are doing...go ahead, ask. They are all throwing up today and through the night last night and I have a sinus infection. So now we get to bring 30 loads of laundry to the laundry mat to wash so we have blankets to sleep on tonight. Are we crazy yet? That's an understatement, but we were crazy before we ever had children so at least some things don't change...
